The philosophy behind the Early Childhood Family Education program (ECFE) is that parents are a child’s first and most influential teachers. Our unique model is structured so that parents attend classes with their children (including pre-kindergarten siblings, if desired). By allowing siblings to attend, the ECFE classroom feels more like a home environment, letting children of various ages learn together. Parents and children start out in the classroom together, then separate so that parents enjoy discussion time on parenting topics with other adults, and children learn developmental and social skills with qualified teachers. Classes are available to ALL families in the mountain community, regardless of the size, make-up, economic status or developmental needs of the child.

 

Classes meet at the Mountain Resource Center, in the Early Childhood rooms, at 11030 Kitty Drive, Conifer. Classes follow the public schools calendar, and in the summer 2008 there will be short sessions offered. There is a monthly tuition for families, which includes the price for one child and parent, and each additional sibling is half price tuition. There are limited scholarships available. Looking for summer activities to do with your child? Check out our new and exciting classes that kids and parents attend together! All pre-kindergarten aged children (0-5) are welcome!

Summer classes will be offered on Tuesday/Wednesdays for one week sessions during the month of June 2008. Classes will have different themes such as, Totally Toddlers!, Kids in the Kitchen, Messy Masterpieces and Storybook Adventures. Sessions will be in the ECFE room at Mountain Resource Center.

Pre-register your child now to assure a spot in these limited sized classes!

Each one week sessions includes two 1 ½ hour classes for child/parent: $35
(Price includes supply fee).
All three sessions for ages 2-5: $105
All pre-kindergarten siblings (0-5 yrs.) may attend for 50% discount on tuition.

Fall 2008 Fees:
1 ½ hr. class: $42/mo. for one child.
